1. Who We Are

Disk Rider Live (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the platform at diskriderlive.com. We are the data controller for personal data collected through the platform. Questions or requests can be directed to privacy@diskriderlive.com.

2. Data We Collect

Account data: name, email address, hashed password, and account role chosen at signup.

Profile data (DJs & venues): stage name or venue name, bio, city, country, genre tags, social links, profile and cover images.

Activity data: events attended, check-ins, follows, reactions, comments, forum posts, live stream history, video views.

Transaction data: wallet top-ups, gift sends, digital set purchases, marketplace orders, payout requests. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider and never stored on our servers.

Technical data: IP address (anonymised after 30 days), browser type, device type, referrer URL, and error logs collected for debugging and security.

Communications: messages sent through the contact form or support email.

3. How We Use Your Data

To operate the platform, including authentication, ranking calculations, and live streaming.
To process payments and payouts securely.
To send transactional emails (account confirmations, payout notifications, booking updates).
To improve the platform through anonymised analytics.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your data on the following legal bases:

Contract: processing necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
Legitimate interests: fraud prevention, platform security, anonymised analytics.
Consent: marketing emails and non-essential cookies (you may withdraw consent at any time).
Legal obligation: tax records, regulatory compliance.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Payment processors to handle transactions securely.
Cloud infrastructure providers that host our servers and databases under data processing agreements.
Law enforcement when required by a valid legal order.

Public profile information (stage name, city, genres, bio, ranking score) is visible to all users and search engines by default. You can set your profile to private in Settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data is purged within 30 days except where retention is required by law (e.g. financial records, which are kept for 7 years).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data (“right to be forgotten”).
Object to or restrict certain processing.
Receive your data in a portable format.
Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is consent-based).

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy.

9. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data in transit is encrypted with TLS. We conduct regular security reviews and maintain an internal incident response procedure.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
